Member-run mail forwarding
A different address for everyone who asks for one.
afrogomous is a small forwarding service run by its members. Members give out addresses at afrogomous.org instead of their real one. Mail sent to those addresses goes straight through to a real inbox, and nothing is kept on the way.
sent to an alias → passed through → a member's own inbox
- New members by invitation
- Inbound forwarding only
- No ads, no tracking
- Logs cleared weekly
How it works
Nothing to install. Members manage their own addresses; everyone else just sees an ordinary email address.
-
01
Make up an address
Anything before the @ works: dentist@, coffee-club@, june-conference@. No setup and no waiting.
-
02
Give it out
Put it on the form, the receipt, the newsletter sign-up. Mail arrives in your usual inbox as if it had been sent there directly.
-
03
Turn it off
When an address gets sold on or starts drawing spam, switch it off. Senders get a bounce. You get quiet, and a fair idea of who leaked it.
What happens to a message
Forwarding is a pass-through. This is everything that touches your mail, and how long it stays.
| Stage | What we see | Kept for |
|---|---|---|
| Arrival | Sending server, the alias it was sent to, the time | 7 days, in the delivery log |
| Filtering | Spam and malware score | Not kept |
| Delivery | The member's real address, to send it on | As long as they're a member |
| Contents | Body and attachments, passed straight through | Only until delivered |
Membership
Closed to the public, on purpose.
Addresses at afrogomous.org are only issued to members, and members join when an existing member invites them. Keeping the group small keeps the domain trusted by the big mail providers, keeps abuse rare, and keeps the server bill split a few ways.
Were you invited?
Write to us from the address you'd like mail forwarded to, and mention who invited you.

Abuse & postmaster
We never send mail, only pass it in. If something reached you from an afrogomous.org address, it started somewhere else. Tell us anyway, and we'll find the alias and shut it.
